CREATING MULTI-PLATFORM CONTENT BRANDS WITH SPIRIT
UK broadcaster 5 enters the vodcast arena with brace of shows from Spirit Studios
Paramount-owned UK broadcaster 5 is launching two new vodcast series, marking a first for the channel in this space. Produced by Spirit Studios, the series will be available on all podcast outlets, YouTube and on 5 streaming and linear TV as 5 continues to diversify the way it enables audiences to consume its content.
The first vodcast, Catching Up with the Royals (60’ x 20 episodes), will be hosted by Reverend Richard Coles and Royal Correspondent Emily Andrews (pictured). Each week, Coles and Andrews will give their take on the latest royal tattle – from the moments everyone is talking about, to the stories unfolding behind palace walls. They’ll also take a deep dive into the defining moments of the royal family’s history.
The second, A Night In with Sally Lindsay (w/t – 60’ x 20 episodes), is a nostalgic chat show vodcast. Lindsay is joined by a celebrity guest in each episode, as they take a look at the TV moments that have shaped their lives – from childhood favourites and genre obsessions to the shows that inspired their careers.
IP360
Spirit Studios has announced plans for a new partnerships division, IP360, designed to transform creative ideas into multi-platform content brands.
Launching in 2025, IP360 will empower media owners, publishers, brands, distributors and financiers to bring their intellectual property to life across multiple formats and genres, from podcasts and digital channels to global TV distribution.
Building on Spirit Studios’ expertise and creative track record, IP360 aims to offer a “revolutionary approach to content creation and commercialisation”. By leveraging economies of scale, the division will ensure that a single idea can evolve seamlessly across platforms—whether it’s a documentary, drama or an entertainment format.
With several high-profile partners already on board, Spirit Studios is set to unveil a slate of IP360 projects in Q1 2025. These partnerships span a diverse range of genres and platforms, which Spirit said will showcase the potential of the innovative ecosystem to turn original ideas into multi-dimensional global brands. From digital revenues and brand collaborations to global distribution and format sales, the goal is for IP360 brands to thrive across markets and platforms.
Matt Campion, founder and CEO of Spirit Studios (pictured right, alongside Spirit Studios co-founder Peter Cowley), said: “We’re living in an extraordinary era where producers have the power to launch their own shows, build their own audiences, and create global content brands. But thriving in this landscape requires more than creativity – it demands new skills, new business models, and a forward-thinking approach. Our IP360 division is designed to transform a single idea into a multi-platform success, connecting with audiences across platforms.”
Spirit Studios is a Channel 4-backed award-winning production company dedicated to creating bold, original, and impactful content across platforms. Previous credits include The Stand Up Sketch Show, Private Parts and Missing Presumed Dead.
