Creating Content With Spirit
Spirit Studios is the new name for Spirit Media, founded by Peter Cowley and Matt Campion.
Our mission is to create ‘content with spirit’ that impacts audiences through entertainment and storytelling, in order to drive change for the better.
As well as tackling social change on-screen, we also aim to become the change we want to see off-screen by implementing cultural policies in things like: diversity, sustainability and workplace mental health.
Our ethos is the ‘Funny & Feeling’ which informs so much of our creative thinking. This ensures we produce content that not only is highly entertaining, but also drives our mission.
We do that through our award-winning studios that produce: Original TV & Digital Content, Branded Content, Podcasts and Social Media Campaigns. Our in-house audience development team also build and operate our own digital brands & channels, as well as running our multi-award winning global mental health movement #IAMWHOLE.
In a rapidly changing content world, producers need to be able to produce any form, on any platform, in order to keep up with rising audience demands.
Our studios are designed to do exactly that – individually they are STAND-OUT and when they come together and collaborate they are GROUND-BREAKING. Ideas, talent and expertise in one studio can be used in another studio to help build cross platform content brands.
Original programmes include BAMOUS, The Stand Up Sketch Show for ITV, Comedy Against Living Miserably for Dave, SHAMED: You Are What You Tweet & Instagrammification for BBC, and Trigger Happy for Channel4.
Spirit’s network of podcasts includes Private Parts with Jamie Laing & Francis Boulle; Teenage Mixtape with Joel Dommett & Steve Dunne; Homo Sapiens; Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To…. and Russell Kane’s Boy’s Don’t Cry.
Branded Content partners include CAA, HSBC, Samsung, Bose, The National Lottery, Crisis, and Mattel.
Spirit runs the successful Lion Whisperer channel on YouTube & Facebook and is a social video production partner for the LADbible Group.
The multi-award-winning #IAMWHOLE mental health campaign was launched by Spirit & Jordan Stephens in 2016 to help young people to speak out, seek help, and get support. The campaign has gone on to launch Music 4 Mental Health and Digital Detox Day.
